Hardware for servers

Usually these don't have displays attached all the time and are configured through remote management software.

  • Intel NUC ~150€
  • ASRock DeskMini A300 AMD Ryzen edition
  • Odroid C2 – $40 quad-core computer (S905 chipset, like many Chinese set-top boxes), providing one of the most cost-effective ARMv8 AArch64 development boards available.
  • Pine64 – single board computer utilizing the Allwinner A64, a quad core 1.2GHz ARMv8 Cortex-A53 SoC.
  • Rock64 – credit card sized single board computer. It utilizes the Rockchip RK3328, a quad core 1.5GHz ARMv8 Cortex-A53 SoC.

Useful if you want to admin your server when your operating system has either crashed or doesn't boot. You can have a hardware KVM over IP chip which forwards the video output through the network to you.
