Microsoft Windows DNS

Active Directory DNS is based on Bind.

If you have multiple connections, DNS resolution is tried through all of them at once. This can be detrimental or even leaking information if you use Split DNS.

Turn it off in GPO → Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Network → DNS Client → Turn off smart multi-homed name resolution.¹
