There are several modems you can use for DOCSIS, some of them mentioned here.

• Technicolor TC4400 – DOCSIS 3.1

The Intel Puma 5/6/7 chipsets are vulnerable to the so-called "Puma bug". Do not buy these.

The cable haunt vulnerability (CVE-2019-19494 is an exploit where an attacker sends malicious packets to your modem which can change settings.

• Technicolor TC4400: Block 192.168.100.1:8080/tcp from LAN. You may want to put the TC4400 in its own VLAN.
